Geneva Faye

Geneva Faye is a Los Angeles-based Mexican-American artist working in film, essay, and installation. Working primarily with light-based processes, her work explores how memory and identity are inherited. Drawing on her family's roots in the Sonoran Desert and her own upbringing between the US and Mexico, Faye translates inherited gesture and migration into physical, light-fixed traces: images that only resolve when a viewer occupies the exact position required to see them.

Faye holds a BA in Linguistics from the University of Arizona. Her work has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara and pocoapoco in Oaxaca, Mexico, where she completed a residency in 2024. She is currently developing new film and installation work forthcoming in Skin Contact (2026).
